Max completed medical school in the UK and gained experience in emergency medicine, plastic surgery, and intensive care. In 2015, he passed his primary surgical examinations to become a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons England and has presented his academic work at numerous international medical conferences.
After moving to Australia in 2016, Max trained in Orthopaedic Surgery across various hospitals in Sydney, where he developed extensive experience in managing acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries and refined his procedural skills, including joint injections.
Over the last few years, Max has taken on roles with elite sporting teams, serving as Chief Medical Officer for the Manly Sea Eagles Rugby League development squads and Sydney University Rugby Club. He has also worked as a pitch-side doctor at Wallabies and Walleroos international test matches, as well as multiple A-League men’s and women’s matches.
In early 2025, Max relocated to the Gold Coast to continue his training at Gold Coast Sports Medicine. He has commenced consulting at the Benowa rooms and is now the Chief Medical Officer for the Gold Coast Titans NRLW team.
Max enjoys working with people of all ages and activity levels, providing comprehensive assessments and treatment plans for musculoskeletal injuries. He is skilled in administering corticosteroid, hyaluronic acid, and platelet-rich plasma injections for joint, tendon, and ligament injuries when indicated. He strongly believes that “exercise is medicine” and is passionate about keeping people physically active.
Outside of work, Max enjoys spending time with his family, surfing, and playing golf.
